October 2nd 2002

Tuesday:

I've been off my game lately with the lack of detail i'm putting into my journal entries. Yesterday I wrote of how stupid those missionaries were for breaking mission rules. I screwed up today with mission rules. I'm going to write in detail of how i screwed up. Since i'm down to my last month in the mission (noticed how i'm justifying my action) I wanted to make sure i had all the gifts I want to bring home to my parents. We went to the cone day (it's where missionaries buy gifts) and spent a great deal of time shopping. We were making stops all over the capitol and I decided to make one last stop at the photo shop. I needed to pick up my last roll of film i developed and that's where it all happened. I noticed the AP's driving down the road and they immediately made eye contact with us. They pulled up beside us and asked what we are doing, I replied back, "shopping". Then I asked, "are we in trouble", he responds, "I don't know are you". The guilt hit me as i knew I shouldn't have been shopping. I called the mission president to let him know that we decided to take a tour after our interview and buy gifts. He actually was really cool about it. I told him i wouldn't waste the Lords time again, and the conversation ended. Next thing you know i get a phone call from Elder Cowley. He's getting all upset with how I reported my inequities to the mission president...( I really didn't sweet coat what i was doing). The mission President called me back and gave me a stern lecture that instantly made me feel even more guilty. I've never been in trouble in the mission. This was the first and last time i'll ever do something stupid!

Tuesday:

Well, The news was brief here are the following reports in our zone meeting:
San Cristobal 0/16
Madre Vieja 1/9
Los Alcorrizos 4/17
San Geronimo 3/20
Herrera  0/8
Indy 3/19

-Changes in President Letters-
-Changes in weekly reports-

Today, was very different. I'm starting to see corruption and plague of sin between certain missionaries. Elder Elliot Snyder told me that the AP's know about the missionaries that rented a car and traveled down to Tamayo deal. These missionaries were all interviewed with the assistants. They're so stupid i would never blatantly break the mission rules.
Our interviews went well President spoke to us a little about what we needed to do to better our missionaries. I have felt good these last couple of days about our missionaries. They are really striving to teach as many people to reach their goal for the month. I have issued several different challenges to help them accomplish it. We'll see how close we can get to obtaining our zone goal. While there at the mission office I had a competition on who can receive the hardest whippings. I thought that this would be easy since I grew up taking a lot of spankings with the belt. Elder Yancey went first and put the belt across my behind pretty good. I quickly remember that I don't like pain haha...I took a hard strike at his behind and he jumped up and down. It became more intense after 5 hits. My arm got really tired swinging at him so I gave up, and my butt was probably bleeding from the lashings...If my future kids are reading this, it was only a game and sometimes missionaries like to goof off...
